a whole string of now's

i could very well be the most satisfied person at this moment in time
i saw a sweet video of a glow worm last night
and you can see right through their bodies, they're clear
and today i feel like a glow worm

i am amazed at how much i think i know at the time, and when i look back, i had no idea how this would all benefit me so
im just incredibly happy, and i learned at school today, and i went hiking with my handsome friend kris, and i drank green juice, and i just keep smiling

life is so good
sooo good

in sports psych today we watched a video on Coach Lou Holtz
he was an incredibly successful college football coach
as i watched his speech, i was inspired and quickly jotted down all these ideas...it looked like everyone else in the class was half asleep, but i was totally into this guys philosophy

some of my favorite lines,
"the biggest problem: instead of being enthusiastic, we dwell in self pity"
gulp.

"nothings as good as it seems and nothing is as bad as it seems, reality is somewhere in between"
i kinda like this kinda don't....=]

"key: get people to believe in themselves"
part of my mission statement

"we win because of what WE do, not what the other team does"
relate to yourself.. this whole kick i've been on only controlling what you can control..

One thing i REALLY loved was the 3 questions he stated that people are going to ask of you, your spouse, your friends, employers, clients, etc
1. Can I trust you?
2. Are you committed?
3. Do you care about other people?

These really are key to building a relationship. the foundation.
grab it. do it. think on it.

and Finally, i want to share the prayer that the footballers say before each game, i absolutely love it...

Sports Team Prayer

Coach Lou Holtz

This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. But what I do today is important because I'm exchanging a day of my life for it.

When tomorrow comes this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place that which I have traded. I want it to be gain not loss, good not evil, success not failure.

I know I shall not regret the price I have paid for it because the future is just a whole string of now's!

alright now let's all go make some good decisions and change the world!!

apples to apples: smelly:desiree

is it disgusting that i did an intense workout last night after work, then played games with sweet friends, then ate $7.50 worth of chocolate burnt almond ice cream then slept in my bed then woke up and ran 2.5 miles again?
all without showering?
and now im late to class, so im not going to have time to shower again?

i swear ive never sweat so much in my life..
i may do a research project on sweat.

today is a rank day.
and somehow i don't really smell all that bad..

you think were superstars

im in love when i walk into my room
my new lace curtains are so delicately gorgeous

i just boiled my "goal's brainstorm" into more specific roles that i play and want to be, to these five points that will help me change
and be a better person
and an even happier person

Most Important Goals Sept 2010

*GO TO THE TEMPLE (worthily and prepared)

*LISTEN to others (eye contact + don't cut them off) active listening

*LET GO OF ANYTHING YOU CAN'T CONTROL (calm. proactive not reactive)

*BE INDEPENDENT (school, health, photography comes before boys. that includes sleep. be happy because you make you happy)

*CREATE (take the time to look and enjoy and eat and love and write—-wild sunflowers, alpine loop, picnics, read, paint)

bring it on september..someone check in with me and make sure i do these 5 things.

our escape continued through labor day...

so brittany had the grand idea of meeting up with her cousin in Wyoming for the annual Mountain Man Rendezvous. we weren't there long, but from what i could tell everyone stepped back in time to the fur trade era of the 1830's. we forgot our leather, our fur, our feathers and our pretty bonnets, so my vans and skinny jeans were a bit out of place. it was wild though. and having breakfast made for us was the best part and the root beer and scones and smell of leather. oh and the fireworks. and brittany wondering if animals will speak in heaven. and me falling into a ditch and nearly spraining my ankle trying to pee. and the luxurious queen sized sleeping bag. those were my favorites.
i've never been here...the guy at the fireworks store said there is nothing here but fireworks and ______ we think he said corn or porn...

so we played

i almost snatched this lil one just to hold

gorgeous music..i can't remember what it was called...hammering something

happy fur lady. they felt sooo nice

john gets credit for this shot..love it
yum
enter at your own risk..

i must go next year with tiger lily hair and a corsette dress.

i need this week to be a catch up, make order of things week. i have a feeling that will be a challenge, but i'm trying to construct a new and improved list of goals today...wish me luck. i'm in the process of editing 4 different shoots...so bare with me. more photos to come.

have a happy day
